What do Osteopaths treat?

If there is a joint and a muscle, then we can help! Osteopathic care isn’t limited to just the spine; we can treat the whole body including the feet/ankles, knees, elbows, and shoulders. Some examples of things we commonly treat are:

  • acute muscle pain and strains
  • ligament and tendon injuries
  • joint complaints
  • sports injuries e.g. ankle sprains, rotator cuff tears, etc.
  • weekend warrior injuries
  • pregnancy-related issues e.g. pelvic girdle pain
  • headaches and migraines
  • osteoarthritis and joint stiffness
  • postural complaints
  • repetitive strain disorders e.g. tennis elbow, carpal tunnel
  • disc and nerve root pain

What should I bring and what should I wear to my appointment?

If you have any scans or medical reports that are relevant, please bring them. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can move around in. You may be asked to remove items of clothing for examination and treatment purposes. A gown will be provided if required. You will be draped with a towel for modesty during your treatment.

Do I need a referral to see an Osteopath?

Osteopaths are primary healthcare professionals, so no referral is required to book an appointment with us. If you have been referred by your GP for Osteopathic care on a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) or Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, you must bring your paperwork with you in order to claim this service.

Do you accept Work Cover, TAC, or DVA claims?

We do take on third party claims. Payment must be made on the day of your appointment in full and a receipt of payment will be issued for you to claim with the relevant party.
